  • Description

Immersive technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are transforming education on a global scale, offering new paradigms for teaching and learning. Technologies such as Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality, summarized under the umbrella term Extended Reality (XR), and AI-driven tools are paving the way for a more dynamic, interactive, and personalized educational experience.

As we strive to integrate these technologies more broadly, it is imperative to develop innovative educational formats that enhance learning outcomes, teaching methodologies, and teacher training. This also includes leveraging AI for data-driven governance and research. Embracing active learning strategies and game-design principles is essential to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of these technologies, while also aligning with educational policy objectives.

Furthermore, it is crucial to address the ethical, privacy, safety, and security concerns associated with the use of immersive technologies and AI in education. Responsible and ethical implementation will be key to maximizing the benefits while minimizing potential risks.

With this Special Track, we aim to gather cutting-edge research articles and systematic reviews that contribute to the advancement of immersive technologies and AI in education and especially higher education. We seek contributions that explore technological, pedagogical, and ethical dimensions, offering insights and solutions that can shape the future of education.

We invite researchers, educators, and practitioners to submit their empirical studies, theoretical papers, and comprehensive reviews to help build a robust body of knowledge that will drive innovation and excellence in the field of immersive and AI-driven education
