A study, published in the journal Nature Neuroscience, concluded that Japanese, Italian, Ukrainian, Swahili, Tagalog, and dozens of other spoken languages activate the same "universal language network" in native speakers' brains. This language processing hub has been extensively studied in English speakers, but neuroscientists have now confirmed that the exact same network is activated in speakers of 45 different languages from 12 different language families.
