Online/Virtual and in Onsite/Vienna!

We are super excited to announce an innovative opportunity for ALL experts in Immersive Learning to participate in the ALL-iLRN HYBRID OPEN WORKSHOP. Whether you come to Vienna, Austria to join us onsite or participate online on the iLRN Virtual Campus - or BOTH - we invite you to submit materials and contribute to the dialogue on immersive learning.

This represents part of our mission to support and partner with the IEEE Technical Committee on Immersive Learning Environments. Help our emerging discipline to identify and shape "what works" for high quality immersive learning!

Here's what you can do:

1) Call for Immersive Learning Case Studies Videos - Do you teach, design, or research immersive learning experiences? Submit a video highlighting the platform, learning, and design features of your learning environment as part of the CHEX Showcase of Immersive Learning!

2) Hashtag Party! - Come to the iLRN2022 Conference online on our Virtual Campus powered by Virbela on May 30 & 31 and collaborate with your fellow immersive learning experts to review and tag each video with relevant subject / content tags! These sessions will be facilitated by hosts Evan Sitler and Michael Avis and promise to be lively & engaging discussions of the variety of issues, challenges, and possibilities for comparing and contrasting the content represented by each immersive learning video case study!

3) Vienna Workshop BreakOut Sessions - Attendees in Vienna for iLRN2022 will then have the opportunity to sift and sort through the hashtags and output of the Hashtag Party provided by conference participants during the first two days of the conference - Workshop Facilitators Jordan Tynes and Ian Roy will assist in design thinking for us to situate these results into our four breakout sessions (a) Technical; (b) Narrative; (c) Creative; and (d) Engagement related dimensions of immersive learning. Members of these BreakOut Sessions will collaborate and then "Report Out" to the Vienna Conference - which will be streamed into the iLRN Virtual Campus to extend the dialogue and invite conference attendees to respond again.

4) Crowdsourced issues & structured dialogue - The results of these "phases" of the ALL iLRN OPEN WORKSHOP will then be summarized and presented to contribute to emerging standards on Immersive Learning as contribution to the IEEE Technical Committee on Immersive Learning Environments. We anticipate that these outputs will help iLRN establish future Working Groups around these technical, narrative, creative, and engagement dimensions, suggesting structure for our evolving CHEX Showcase of high quality immersive learning experiences, provide recommendations for the 2022 - 2023 seminar series for students, and development of new iLRN initiatives in support of technical, narrative, and engagement standards for the emerging immersive learning field!

We hope you'll submit a video and join us in active participation during the iLRN2022 Conference on this exciting journey!
